If you’re gonna get advice from anyone about starting an OnlyFans, make sure it’s Sophie Rain. The 21 year-old has amassed over 27 million followers across Instagram, TikTok and X, and she’s made absolute bank while keeping her content tasteful yet exciting. Reputable men’s fashion magazine GQ crowned Rain as the “clean queen of the dirty internet” and she has some ideas for how to get into the industry that she claims made her over $100 million.

Like a classic rags to riches tale, Sophie Rain says she was raised off of food stamps, living below the poverty line. While working as a server, her employer found out that she started an OnlyFans and fired her. Turns out, that was the best case scenario for the young, budding star. While some outlets aren’t able to verify her actual earnings, a screenshot Rain posted on X (formerly Twitter) puts her earnings around $43 million in one year. Besides the occasional nude, Sophie doesn’t post much sexually explicit content, so how does she manage to make such a killing?

Rain insists women are able to make money on the app from more than just run-of-the-mill pornography. She asserts, “I met someone who just sells her recipes,” adding, “You have full autonomy over anything. You can do whatever you want.” Her advice might follow the standard “do what you love, and you’ll never work a day in your life” song and dance, but Rain says creating what you want to create on OnlyFans will compel you to do it for a long time, without getting burnt out. “Do what makes you happy. Do what makes you comfortable, putting the content out that you enjoy. You’re not going to get tired of it.”

While not everyone can be financially successful on OnlyFans right off the bat, if you’re willing to put in the work, results will follow. Even though OnlyFans is known for its adult content, making plenty of cash is possible without getting down and dirty for all to see. Meet Sophie Annaston, someone with perhaps less name recognition than Sophie Rain, but Annaston has made the same, if not more money off OnlyFans - without even taking off her clothes.

Subscribers to Annaston’s page can expect plenty of fashion shows and adult toy collection videos, but no nudity. Annaston says, “I’ll share toy hauls - but my panties always stay on.” Annaston’s fiancé was first to leap into the world of content creation and was able to earn more on YouTube than at his previous full-time gig. This motivated Annaston to drop out of school, quit her job and try to build a career on TikTok. Eventually, she landed a deal from Shein and her try-on videos of the brand’s bikinis were a huge success. After being told by a friend just how profitable OnlyFans was, Annaston got her fiancé's permission and her try-on videos continued to rake in followers and cash.

Similar to Sophie Rain, Sophie Annaston has used the eye-popping amount of money she’s earned from OnlyFans to fund her other interests. Annaston was able to publish her book, A Book About Wellness using her OnlyFans money and remains active on Patreon. There, she teaches women everything they want to know about OnlyFans’ inner workings, often getting into the psychology surrounding what works and what doesn’t on the platform. As for Sophie Rain, the young star was inspired by her grandpa to become a homesteader/farmer. “I really just want to carry on doing what my grandpa did, and taking care of farm animals, because I grew up doing that… I love doing it.”
