Ex-OnlyFans CEO Launches Adult Site of Her Own

In the age of growing censorship and limitations on mainstream social media apps, OnlyFans creators are fed up. Apps like Instagram and Facebook are the main channels through which OnlyFans creators direct followers to their more intimate pages, but lately they’ve been getting hit with frivolous ban after frivolous ban. To combat this, a former OnlyFans exec is using her industry know-how to create a new platform catered to adult creators.

Former CEO of OnlyFans Amrapali Gan recently launched Vylit, a web-based application aiming to bridge the gap between Instagram and OnlyFans. While you won’t find fully explicit videos like you would expect to see on OnlyFans or a pornography website, the app allows “softcore” content like topless pics or artistic nudes. Vylit utilizes a tiered subscription system similar to Patreon or Substack, allowing fans to choose their level of engagement and allowing creators to more effectively organize who sees what. Vylit also allows fans to chat with creators directly. 

Social media apps like Instagram are built to keep users online no matter what, so co-founder and Chief Operating Officer Kailey Magder says she and Gan wanted to make an app based on authenticity, not engagement. “We created Vylit because we were frustrated with how social media works today,” Magder said. “Platforms are cluttered with ads, political content, and algorithm-driven noise. We wanted to build something that focuses on people, content, and real communities - not engagement at all costs.” 

As for Gan, her main motivation was eliminating the “fragmentation” that exists for adult creators today. “I spent years watching creators build audiences on one platform and monetize on another,” Gan said of her time at OnlyFans. “Vylit brings both together.”  A staple of OnlyFans is the site’s lack of a search engine, something that Gan and Magder viewed as an obstacle for creator growth. On Vylit, searching for other creators and fans is quite intuitive. A feature called “Vybe Match” even allows people to search by common interests or vibe. 

While it’s common for popular OnlyFans creators to employ “chatters” or “chatbots” for the messaging side of their operation, Vylit steps it up a few notches. If they so choose, creators can make “AI twins” of themselves for fans to chat with. The creator has the option to “train” their AI twin to mimic their own attributes and communication styles. While it’s possible to get topless photos of a creator’s AI twin, that’s as far as things will go. 

As more and more states and countries adopt age verification legislation requiring adult websites to essentially function as a door person at a bar checking IDs, Gan says Vylit is built to survive this restrictive new era. “To us, the future of social media is very much 18 and over.” Estimated to take place in Summer of 2027, the UK’s new age restriction on social media platforms is expected to cost companies like Meta dearly. By contrast, Vylit is marketed towards adults and those wishing to share adult content. So, having already implemented age verification measures, Vylit can’t lose users it never had in the first place. 

Amrapali Gan and co-founder Kailey Magder have already raised over $2 million, showing that there’s definitely a market for social media websites tailored to adults. Since Vylit is a web-based app, you won’t find it in traditional App Stores, but you can register on Vylit’s official webpage.
