While watching your favorite creators on OnlyFans, it’s not difficult to overlook all the hard work that goes into making a successful page. So, if you’ve been itching for a look behind the scenes, Australian creators Annie Knight and Chloe Mira are giving you a glimpse at what it takes to be an OnlyFans model.
Annie Knight loves being an OnlyFans creator because, in her words, “we get to decide what we do.” If she wants to spend all day filming content, she can. If she wants to take a break from the camera and message her subscribers, she can. But like any “flexible” job, being an OnlyFans creator isn’t always a walk in the park.
Chloe Mira says her daily routine changes based on what she wants to accomplish that day. The biggest challenge? Balancing the creative with the mundane. “We work for ourselves, so we decide how much we want to work in the day, but we just get it all done and fit in cleaning [the] house and going to the gym in the meantime,” Mira said. “We do have assistants and management, but we are doing it all ourselves. [We’re] the director, the makeup artist, the creative, and there’s a lot that goes into it.”
Lots of people wonder whether OnlyFans models ever get tired of having sex. Knight, who once had intercourse with 583 men in six hours, says that forming relationships while working on OnlyFans can actually be more difficult than the sex itself. “When I was doing my 1000 guys in a year challenge - we’re talking three years into me doing back to back to back challenges - there were some days where I was like, I’m pretty f*cking tired today. But for the most part, if I didn’t want to do it, I wouldn’t do it. I mean, I certainly don’t get sick of having sex with my partner,” Knight said. She adds, “When I was dating, it was really hard trying to navigate how I could possibly be in a relationship when every time I would go on a date and tell them I did OnlyFans, they would ghost me and never see me again.” The 29 year-old is now engaged to Harry Brayshaw, who she says is her “best friend of 10 years”. Knight says that trust, communication and honesty have been the keys to maintaining a good relationship while having such a demanding job. She says “having open conversations about boundaries and all that kind of stuff is the only way to make it work.”
Mira, who creates OnlyFans content with her partner, says that sometimes sex can feel like work. Saying the videos they created together “were always work” adding, “they were quite separate from our personal sex life, which does take a little bit of the enjoyment out of it because you’re trying to concentrate on camera angles and stuff. Like, when you’re having an intimate moment, it’s really nice to kiss someone, but no one cares about that in a video that you’re trying to sell.”
As for advice on those wanting to join OnlyFans, Mira and Knight say that being prepared to fail is the most vital to being successful on the platform. With all the stories circulating about OnlyFans stars making millions in a week, it can be easy to lose sight of just how difficult it is to make a living on OnlyFans, especially if you aren’t a supermodel or a celebrity with a built-in audience. The stigma surrounding OnlyFans work is the biggest hurdle to newcomers right now, according to Knight and Mira. Knight warns, “If you are really passionate about this and this is something you really want to do, make sure you know that you could start an account, you could fail, and then you might not be able to get another job again.” Mira echoes this statement, saying, “you are going to risk everything for potentially no reward.”
Chloe Mira and Annie Knight are two creators who genuinely love their job. If you’re thinking about joining the fun on OnlyFans, do your research, think things through and be creative.
