Well…

OnlyFans doesn’t have an official app for both mobile and desktop.

If you’ve been searching for it on the App Store or Google Play, it’s time to stop.

You can only access the platform through their official website at onlyfans.com on a web browser.

A lot of people want an app for easier access, faster browsing, and instant notifications.

But despite its massive popularity, you can only access OnlyFans via the website.

So, why isn’t there an app?

It comes down to strict app store rules, revenue sharing, and policy risks (we’ll talk more about this later in the post).

But that doesn’t mean you’re out of options.

In this article, we’ll explain why OnlyFans doesn’t have an app and how you can still use it on mobile.

We will also answer the question, “Will OnlyFans have an app later in the future?”

Let’s get into it.

Why OnlyFans Doesn’t Have an Official App

Like every other popular platform, putting out an app is usually the next thing to do, to keep users happy.

But this isn’t the case with Onlyfans.

Here are three reasons why Apple and Google stores won’t allow it.

1. Strict App Store Rules

Apple and Google Play have tough rules on adult content. They don’t allow apps with explicit material, especially anything involving paid subscriptions

App store rules

Since OnlyFans is known for its adult creators, it doesn’t meet the guidelines.

Even if OnlyFans tried to limit certain content, the risk of violations is too high.

2. Revenue Sharing Issues

Google takes a cut of 30% on every in-app purchase, digital content, virtual currencies, and subscriptions for digital content.

Apple’s rate varies between 17% to 27% depending on the device.

Then, they charge 15% after the first year, especially if you auto-renew your subscription to the Google Play Store

Google Play revenue share split

That means if OnlyFans had an app, a big part of the money would go to app stores instead of creators.

Since OnlyFans makes its money from creator earnings, this would be a huge loss.

Keeping everything on the web lets them avoid these extra fees.

3. Risk of Policy Violations

Even if an app made it to the stores, it could get removed anytime if rules changed.

For example, in 2018, Tumblr had to ban adult content to stay on the app stores, according to BBC

OnlyFans doesn’t want to risk losing its main audience. That’s why they choose not to have an app for now.

Apple and Google strictly enforce their policy. They have removed apps in the past for violating content policies, leading to a sudden loss of platform access.

So, instead of an app, OnlyFans sticks to the website, which works just as well on any device without restrictions.

How to Access OnlyFans on all Devices Without an App

OnlyFans is only accessible through its website on any device, and it’s optimized for mobile.

This way, creators and subscribers can enjoy a smooth experience even on the go.

Users using iPhone or Android devices can get easy access because OnlyFans works just fine on mobile browsers like Safari (iPhone) or Chrome (Android).

Just open your browser, type in OnlyFans.com, and log in like you normally would.

Because the site is completely optimized for mobile, you can enjoy everything, like videos, messages, and payments, without issues.

Let’s look at how to enjoy OnlyFans even without an app but still have the feel of an app.

Add OnlyFans Shortcut to Your Home Screen

You can make a shortcut on your home screen for quick access.

For iPhone using Safari:

  1. Open OnlyFans in Safari.

  1. Once it’s done, it’ll show up like an app on your home screen, but it’s not an app.

Once you’ve added the shortcut, tap it, log in, and you’re good to go!

It opens in full-screen mode, just like a real app. You don’t have to deal with app store restrictions.

With this simple trick, you won’t have to worry about downloading an app. Just fast access whenever you need it.

Does OnlyFans Have Any Official Apps?

OnlyFans doesn’t have an official app that reflects what the website is all about.

However, there is an official app called OFTV, that was released in January 2021.

Homepage for OFTV

What is OFTV?

OFTV is OnlyFans’ safe-for-work (SFW) app, meaning it only features content that follows normal platform guidelines.

No naked bodies here, just videos on:

  • Fitness & Workouts – Like yoga, weightlifting, and guided exercise routines.
  • Cooking & Recipes – Creators who share their favorite meals step-by-step.
  • Lifestyle & Vlogs – Behind-the-scenes content and personal stories.
  • Interviews & Talk Shows – Conversations with OnlyFans creators (without the explicit content).

The introduction of this app can help change the platform’s image from an "amateur porn site" to a reputable platform for different online creators, similar to Patreon.

So far, OFTV has a library of over 800 videos.

You’ll even get original series like "Unlocked," which includes conversations with creators such as media personality and former adult-movie performer Mia Khalifa, actress/director Bella Thorne, and Holly Madison.

The platform also hosts content from fitness instructors, chefs, musicians, podcasters, and more.

The app is free to watch, contains no ads, and doesn't ask for a login.

It's available to download on multiple platforms, including the Google Play Store, Apple's App Store, Roku, and Amazon Fire TV.

According to OnlyFans CEO Tim Stokely, "There's no adult content on OFTV. Because it's not being monetized and there's no direct impact on creators' earnings, we are able to be in the app store."

Will OnlyFans Have an App in the Future?

So far as we can see, the answer is no.

But let’s not write off the possibility of OnlyFans releasing an app later in the future.

While OnlyFans has never launched a full app that reflects its website's true activity, the company hasn’t really made any serious moves to do so.

You already know the reason for this, which is the app store policies.

That’s why they released OFTV instead.

What would need to change for there to be an app?

For an official OnlyFans app to exist, one of two things would have to happen:

  1. Either Apple or Google relax their policies on adult content (which isn’t likely).
  2. Or OnlyFans changes its rules to remove sexual material (which would upset a larger part of its creators and users).

Right now, you’d agree that neither of these seems realistic. But, still, keep your fingers crossed.

Conclusion

While a traditional app is unlikely, users can only hope that one-day OnlyFans could develop an app.

But for now, the best way to use OnlyFans on mobile is through a browser or by adding it to your home screen.

But if anything changes, you can bet OnlyFans will find a way to make access even easier.
